CCIV Stops in Burlingame
2003 Marketing Seminar |
Catherine LaPorte's CCIV students and faculty stopped in Burlingame for
the third consecutive year as part of the group's tour of California.
Speaking to the group about wine sales in California was Alexia Moore, head
honcho of the famous "Alexia Moore Wine Marketing" brokerage.
Ms. Moore represents brands such as Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Frog's Leap, Z-D,
Bonny Doon Vineyards, Keller Estate, amongst others.

Ms. Moore explaining the vagaries of wine marketing and the challenges faced by
various types of companies involved in wine sales.

There's quite an interesting discussion during this seminar.
Afterwards, Gerald opens a bunch of bottles of wine, hopefully showing the
students that California DOES make some good wines.

We opened the 1968 Parducci Cabernet and 1975 Ridge Geyserville.
Both were still alive, the Ridge more so than the Parducci.

The Famous Catherine LaPorte.

The wines must have been okay! They're smiling!!!

Despite the bottle having been slightly ullaged (low fill level), the wine was
still very good.

We then walked a few doors up the block to AJI YOSHI YA, a Japanese restaurant.
