CCIV-2009

In early March of 2009, we hosted a small seminar on marketing and wine
distribution in the United States, with an emphasis on California.
Wine broker Andrew McLester of San Francisco and importer Charles Neal spoke
about their companies, their interests and experiences in the wine industry.

A group of 18 graduate students was led, as usual, by Pascal Durand. charge
du mission "vigne & vin."

Andrew spoke about his travels through the world of wine to his current
position, owning a small wine brokerage called "Real Wines."

Charles Neal spoke about his background and how he got into the business of
importing French wines and spirits.

After the talks about wine sales and distribution, we opened a
few bottles of California wines for the class.

Charles Neal and Pascal Durand.

After our tasting, we strolled over to
AJI YOSHI YA...

And there we opened some unusual bottles of wine...

Licati Cellars Sauvignon Blanc, for example.

Cecile Vineyards...Côtes du Randon d'Or Chardonnay.
We ordered some sushi for starters...

Then we found a bottle of Sarah-Vin...

And then lunch arrived...

A bottle of "Max Rouge" was a nice blend of Cabernet
and Merlot.

We had a Japanese "Surf & Turf."

Bonne chance to all the CCIV group!
Our paths will cross in the future.
Many thanks.
