LUNCH at 231 ELLSWORTH
One of the area's top restaurants has re-opened its doors under new

Everyone else was having a main plate to go with Pierre Sparr's Riesling. Mine would
have been better with a Pinot Noir.

We had a lovely and culinarily-adventursome dinner at 231 on a Saturday night in
We splurged, going for the "taster's menu". The most curious
course was something of a risotto but made with a broth of smoked ham hocks!
In any case, the various courses were well-prepared and beautifully
presented. Foie gras. Marinated calamari. Sweetbreads
with roasted "pork cheeks."
On such a warm night, however, we would have preferred the white wines be served
closer to "chilled" rather than the warm, cellar temperature.
