GERALD HOSTS RANDALL GRAHM & FAMILY
It was a moderately warm summer's evening and Randall
Grahm, Chin-Tsu and Amelie stopped by for dinner.
Claudia Temby had set up the arrangements and we prepared some victuals and
opened some bottles.
We began with a Greek white made of Moschofilero, a perfectly nice,
curious, dry white wine.
I had marinated some prawns in olive oil and Pernod, wrapping them in basil
leaves and Prosciutto di Parma. I skewered these and grilled them.
Meanwhile, Claudia was busy preparing the
Insalata di Capri.
I opened a Les Cretes 2002 Petite Arvine, a white grape more commonly found in
Switzerland. Pretty nice, though.
We adjourned to the dining room and every marveled at Amelie's appetite.

smoked duck and asparagus. Very soulful!
Randall seems to be enjoying the relatively edible cuisine and a night
The main course was a rack of lamb, twice cooked. Claudia grilled some
vegetables and we had polenta stars on the grill, topped with some intense
A Chateau Negly "Clos de Truffiere" Syrah was delicious, but they're
out of their minds asking triple digits for that wine!
The pesto was of great interest to Amelie, so I brought the rest of my jar out
for her inspection.
She also enjoyed wearing, at one point, my "Daniel Boone, coonskin"
Claudia brought some fresh berries which we paired with my Killer Vanilla
We had a sip of Larrios 1866 afterwards.
Claudia enjoyed a sip of this and Amelie made note regarding the nose of this
Amelie was most enthralled by her new friends.
A lovely evening.
