Claudia Temby invited a trio of diverse guests for a lovely dinner in the
Oakland Hills at Villa Temby.
Prosciutto e melone, along with some crackers topped with an olive tapenade.
We sat outside on a warm evening and enjoyed an unusually good bottle of Mumm's
Brut Champagne brought by Lesley.
Claudia proposed a toast and we were off and running!
That's famous sound-man Ludger Solbach who's an expert in things such as partial parameter extraction and partial resynthesis from single channel recordings in nonstationary, noisy environments.
We were moderately noisy on this evening.
A delicious soup of Zucchinis and peas was paired with a glass of Soave.
The next bit of comfort cuisine featured a salad Claudia's family served
regularly when they lived in Spain.
The next plate offered by La Chef was a wonderful "bruschetta"
sort of duo, one dominated by tomatoes and the other by basil.
Both were a delight.
A nice white Bordeaux was on the table at this point, along with a Stevenot
Syrah which Claudia praised.
The "soulman" was not Dressed in China this evening. Or Dresden
Casual dress. Yes.
Claudia prepared her famous Provenal-styled beans & potato 'stew'.
Next, in keeping with the theme of "symbols of love," Lesley sat down
at the Temby grand piano and played a wonderful Waltzette.
Most enchanting by candle light!
I had been requested (more like "ordered") to not bring my usual bag
of tricks (wine, food, etc.). We were only supposed to bring "symbols
So I brought this delicious little box:
I figured the baker lovingly prepared these delicious Macadamia Nut-Kona Coffee
Lesley then revealed to one and all how she landed on some U.S. government list
of potentially suspicious persons and how she may be asked to undergo rigorous
inspections at airports since she arrived at a U.S. Customs office by boat an
hour or so after they were closed. In possession of a couple of oranges,
Dessert and Discussion then continued back outside under the stars.
It was now the "wee" hours of the morning and we finally adjourned the
"meeting." It was a lovely and wonderful evening!!!
