The kids were there before we arrived.
The Darlings, Clementine & Alanna.
Meanwhile, there was a lot of hopping and chopping going on in the kitchen.
The wood oven was fired up and Jonathan was roasting the ducks.
Frank went out back to inspect the roasting birds.
Meanwhile, Dane was in the kitchen, helping.
No fingers were lost this particular Sunday!
Soon, well into the fourth or fifth bottle of wine, the meal was practically

Roasted Potatoes (homegrown Yukon Golds!).

Tedeschi's Maui Brut
Nice, dry bubbly...mild yeasty notes...surprisingly well-made.
Gritsch 2003 Riesling Trocken
Very intensely fruity and dry Austrian Riesling...an outstanding
Willamette Valley Vineyards 2004 Pinot Noir
A fruity, Beaujolais-styled Pinot...nice example of Pinot...good
served lightly chilled.
D'ANGELO 2001 Aglianico del Vulture
A pleasant, earthy, rustic Italian red.
Tollot-Beaut 2002 Chorey-Les-Beaune
Lovely, elegant, refined little Burgundy. Very fine!
Jonathan made a splendid Pear tarte, styled along the lines of a Tarte Tatin.
The homemade vanilla ice cream wasn't bad, either!
The kids were busy, too.
Clementine is the Bubble Princess.
Alanna took a turn at blowing bubbles, too.
It was Clementine's turn, again!
