A POST-CABERNET TASTING DINNER
Bob had some little nibbles to go with the Tarlant Champagne. We found
this to be a crisp, steely-edged bubbly...a nice, simply Champagne.
Bob sauted some shallots, breadcrumbs and parsley in preparation for some

We tasted a rather nice Vermentino with this dish and the Simmonet-Fevre Chablis
wasn't bad, either.
Bob presents the main course...a roasted leg of lamb, stuffed tomatoes and sauted
bitter mustard greens.
We opened a couple of 1995 Moillard Burgundies with this. Moillard isn't
exactly a leading estate in the region, but the Echezeaux and Bonnes-Mares were
available from a local importer at rather modest prices.
The Echezeaux did not quite live up to its grand cru states, but the Bonnes-Mares
was a lovely bottle.
Bob poached some pears in red wine for dessert...a nice match with Gatti's
