CONNIE & MARK
Fresh off the Plane From France
A FEBRUARY DINNER
They were still jet-lagged when we hosted a
little "vacation extender' dinner after their return from France.
And Constance Poon.
A bottle of the 2002 Pierre Moncuit Champagne was stellar.
We then sat down at the table and enjoyed
some Escargot and a bottle of 2001 Chassagne-Montrachet.

Kareasa hoists a glass...
Ellen must have sat on a tack...
2007 Bott Geyl Riesling reminded Constance & Mark of their few delightful
days in Alsace on the Route du Vin.
We had a simple preparation of Rex Sole...
A little palate cleanser...
Kareasa then opened a bottle of Catena
Cabernet Franc she picked up in Argentina.
Meanwhile, I was busy in the kitchen working on the main
Coq au Vin
Kareasa digs in...
...as does Mark.
Meo-Camuzet 2006 Nuits-Saint-Georges
Premier Cru - Aux Argilles
Lots of nice cherry notes with a touch of oak...drinkable now (and how), but
it will probably also cellar well for 5-10 more years.
Everyone, it seems, went for more...
Then we had a Cote-Rotie along with a number of cheeses.
Connie brought a computer to show us some photos of their
Ellen opened a bottle of Muscat de Beaumes de Venise which we
had a sip of before Mark brought out his lovely Chocolate Lava Cakes...
It was a lovely little soiree...nice to have Constance and Mark back home.
