With visiting dignitary Giulia Masi, we gathered at Chateau Tolmach in Woodside
for a simple Friday night supper.
We began with some Sushi & Tolmach Beers.
Our neighbor at Aji Yoshi Ya makes terrific sushi!
In case we needed more antipasti, we had smoked meats, prosciutto, olives and
We forgot to alert the Woodside Fire Department:
"Giulia is Cooking!"
No damage, though.
She made Spaghetti alla Carbonara.
Giulia tastes the Isole e Olena 1988 Chianti Classico, a wine her father helped
produce during his days in the cellar.
The wine was mature and definitely in need of drinking! The pasta was

do with a 1998 Antinori Tignanello.
The steaks, by the way, came from the butcher shop at Broadway Food Center and
these were outstanding!
Giulia practiced swirling the wine in her glass and told us how she hopes to,
someday, be in the wine business with her soon-to-be famous winemaking father,
Beef. It's what's for dinner.
