LATE WINTER/EARLY SPRING at FILOLI
March 16, 2003
We gathered at Filoli in Woodside one Sunday morning for a
leisurely lunch and stroll through the gardens.
Jonathan & Lucy's backyard was overflowing with flowers!
A glass of Tolmach beer stared the festivities off nicely!
The Fitz-Jensen's arrived, along with Georgette and Pete.
Here's little Dane and his father, Jesper.

Despite predictions of rain, it was a glorious sunny day.
There were many tulips in bloom, though Lucy explained they'd have had many more
if the bulbs had arrived on time. A dock strike slowed their arrival.

They still had many wonderful colors on display.
Returning to Chateau Tolmach, Jonathan wrote out the menu.
Lucy poured the polenta on a wooden cutting board.
The Cauliflower was exceptional! Amazingly more flavorful and aromatic
when it's right out of the garden, than when it's spend a week or two in transit
to the grocery store.
