Alanna's parents, Amy & Jesper, invited everyone to celebrate one warm
Sunday afternoon at their little hacienda in Santa Clara, California.
The lady in Pink is Alanna Fitz-Jensen, five years of age in 2003!
Meanwhile, Jesper (also known as Whisper) was busy preparing some vittles by the
side of the house.
This is Whisper's new "toy," a double-barreled "barbecue."

Potatoes, naturally. After all, Whisper is also known as
Mister Potato-Head.
This is, apparently, a Danish condition.
And he had not just one, but TWO prime rib roasts on the rotisserie! One
for the crowd of guests, one for Amy (I'm guessing!).
Of course we had wine, but some of the guests preferred water.

A bunch of on-lookers all wonder if we're going to do the Hokey-Pokey.
We had a nice range of wines...La Gauphine Viognier was especially refreshing on
such a warm day. So was the La Canorgue Rosé. Blanco Nieva from
Spain was a perfect aperitif in the summer heat. We even cooled off a
bottle of Vietti 1998 Barolo, a lighter vintage, but a lovely wine with the
beef.

A bunch of Birthday Cakes Suddenly Appeared!
Alanna got busy and blew out all the candles!

We also sang "Happy Birthday" to Chelsea!

Whisper Got Busy and Cut the Cake.
Alanna's Little Brother Dane recently got a hair cut from his father,
Whisper. He seems to doubt the efficiency of his dad's abilities as a
barber.
Meanwhile, speaking of haircuts, Alanna tried on a wig as her cousin Gaelen
tried zapping some Martians who were attempting to crash the party.
Obviously, Alanna has a shoe fetish like her Mom, even at age 5.
Dane got a present from his Uncle Gerald, a musical top.
Well...I had to depart, but not before seeing The Fitz-Jensen's show off on a
Harley!
"Eat your hearts out, Norbert & Gaby!" they said.
