The FitzJensen's Sunday Summer BBQ
Early August - 2006

Jesper was busy in the kitchen preparing some vittles for an informal
backyard 'cue.
He had been busy preparing gnocchi...

I got busy an immediately opened a bottle of wine (or two
or three).

Clementine was delighted to have a nice sunny day of hanging around with her
pal Alanna and her new friends, Summer and Amber.

The kids had the little "motorcycle" out tearing
up the lawn and one of the top riders of the day was Summer.

Summer, much like your typical Hell's Angel biker, sports a tattoo.
Hers is that of Cinderella.

Jesper asked Samantha how she was doing and she responded with
"Great!" A moment later, Jesper handed her some cheese and a
grater.
"That's grate!" was Jesper's reply.

He then got busy preparing the pork chops for the grill.

It's not an official Jesper T. Jensen meal without potatoes!
We then wisely added some sage to the pork chops...

Amber, meanwhile, was a real swinger.

Aviva brought out a nice platter of tomatoes...

Jesper's Gnocchi were excellent!

Samantha started the proceedings.
Meanwhile, Amber was busy, too.

Sherry made the rounds, too.

Jesper has, apparently, Frog's Balls.

We enjoyed this bottle of Cedar Creek 2000 Pinot Noir from Canada.
Aviva, who's French-Canadian, was especially shocked to taste such a good wine
from north of the border.

"Cheers, all y'all!"

Emma and her new pooch.
Meanwhile, someone told Summer this was an Australian slide and she had to slide
down it "upside down."

Amber decided to give it a try...

Jesper gave it a try, too.

He'll be sore tomorrow...

Summer says "Hey, Mom! Listen! I think I hear Sasquatch!
No...Maybe it's just Dane."

Pie and Ice Cream!
The kids then decided simply playing around in the yard was
not sufficiently dangerous (even with Dane), so they began climbing the
flagpole.

Samantha's kids, Amber and Summer, were especially adept at scaling the
heights.

Meanwhile, Summer was, once again, up the pole.

A couple of Princesses had a group hug.

It was contagious, apparently.
Happily, Aviva managed to curb her urge to climb the flag pole and she, instead,
sent Clementine up to the top.

I departed moments after being scared away by this
creature.

Many thanks to all for such a relaxing and delicious
afternoon.
