A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION FOR
BOB GORMAN

We began the festivities at Filoli and a
nice little tour of the spring garden...
Meanwhile, inside the house Jonathan had some breads
cooling...
Jonathan pulls some beer from the keg...
We then embarked on a tour of the various gardens...
The first asparagus of 2008 are popping up.
Poulet vous...???
I teased them about the apparently "dead"
hedge...but it's some sort of tree that, when cultivated as a tree, sheds its
leaves in the Fall. When it's cropped as a 'hedge,' the leaves remain
until new growth appears...
A cousin of Ansel Adams.
Then we headed over to Chateau Moore for some comestibles
and vino.
Joining us this evening was Jane Tolmach...Nice to see Henry and Alexia live
near Jane's street...
THE PROGRAM:
Sandy and Paul brought some splendid Thai or Viet-styled 'rolls.'
Jonathan made some aoli to pair with the home-grown asparagus.
Henry opened some bottles of bubbly...
Bob was already catching a snooze...
Alexia's onion tart.
A Keller Estate Pinot Gris was paired with a bottle of Huia from New Zealand.
Everyone dug right in...
The main course was Henry's Smoked Tri-Tips...
Jane hits the sauce.
A cheese course followed...
Then Bob mentioned there "being no time like the
present..."
...and some gifts arrived!
