KEG BEER INFO

We have access to a nice range of keg beers.
Please order these more than 5 minutes before your event.
Consider arranging these a week prior to your party.
We do not deliver or ship kegs.  They must be picked up at the shop.
We are in the San Francisco Bay Area.
No, we do not deliver kegs to Los Angeles, Texas or other far away places from where we've received inquiries!

5 Gallon Keg= 53 12oz. Beers

1/4 Barrel= 80 12oz. Beers
1/2 Barrel= 160 12 oz. Beers

13.2 gallon keg = 140 12 oz. Beers

The "garden variety" beers such as Bud, Miller and Coors are available in "quarter barrel" and "half barrel" formats.

A "quarter barrel" is also known as a "pony keg," being about 7.5 gallons of beer.  That's roughly 80 12-ounce servings.

A "half barrel" is 15-gallons.  This is about 160 12-ounce beers.
These are returned, most frequently, only partially consumed.  Don't buy a half-barrel unless you're having 150-200 people and know that, at least half of them are beer drinkers!

Many imports come in 13.2 gallon kegs, approximately 50 liters.  This equates to 140 12-ounce beers.
Many of the imports, though technically "draft" (or "draught" if you prefer) beer, are pasteurized.

A few really top beers come in 5-gallon party keg format.  The cylinders are much easier to maneuver, as you needn't be an Olympic gold medalist in weight-lifting to handle one of these.
A party keg of this size delivers about 50 12-ounce servings.

Many customers have been installing "Kegerators" as part of their home bar.

This is a refrigerator with a beer tapping system.
We do not sell these.
If you have such a system, be sure you have the right fittings to attach to a keg.
We, frankly, are not beer keg experts and you will want to verify you have the proper tapping equipment for a particular keg.
