The Ponzi family invited me to join them
at their 40th Anniversary Gala in August of 2010. We had a wonderful time
dining with their friends and family on a warm Summer weekend night, celebrating
their pioneering status in the history of Oregon wine-growing.
Held at their Collina del Sogno winery facility and vineyard in Sherwood,
Oregon, the Ponzi family enlisted the services of David Cooley and his band of
merry musicians to serenade the assembled multitude.
Here was a congregation of the illuminati of Oregon wine, dining and hoisting
wine glasses for several hours, all the while tapping their toes and shaking
their tail feathers to the upbeat sounds of a melodic and energetic quintet.
